šŸ” No time to watch? Hereā€™s the low down:

  • šŸ˜©Will SAVE be blocked by republicans?
Short answer: we donā€™t know. In light of this new bill, people are understandably worried about the safety of this plan. Now, SAVE was created by executive order, not a law, so it could technically be voided by the Supreme Court. But in the face of such uncertainty, all we can do is work with the options we have right now. If SAVE is right for you, stick with it. Iā€™m all about keeping options on the table. So if they take this one off, we just pivot to another one. Iā€™ll update you as this unfolds. But for now, hang tight.

  • šŸ™Can they stop social security from being garnished?
Senate Finance Chair Ron Wyden and a team of reps are trying their hardest. If this billpasses, borrowers who default on their loans wonā€™t get their social security check garnished. If it doesnā€™t pass, there are still plenty of programs for borrowers in defaultā€”like Fresh Start. More on this story as it happens.

  • āÆļø New video: My client Lisa shares her student loan struggles.
Lisa went from winning corporate awards to losing her job, her house, and her faith in the system. She experienced shame and isolation, fuelled by vicious comments from servicers and judgements from society. Sound familiar? Let Lisaā€™s story remind you: whatever youā€™re going through, youā€™re not alone.

  • šŸ’øThis woman on TikTok regrets paying her loans off in full.
But honestly, I donā€™t think she should. Could she have spent that money on better things? Sure. And yeah, her credit has taken a temporary hit. But she shouldnā€™t worry too much. As I always say, credit bounces back faster than you think. And hey, now sheā€™s free from her loans! Silver linings and all that.
