  • đź’š Biden’s SAVE plan will be a huge relief for borrowers

    The highlights are:

    • They’re going to halve the amount that borrowers have to pay each month from 10% to 5% of discretionary income.

    • They’ll guarantee that no borrower earning under 225% of the federal poverty level will have to make a monthly payment.

    • They’ll forgive loan balances after 10 years of payments instead of 20 years.

    • They won’t charge borrowers with unpaid monthly interest.

  • đź“śBiden’s plan B for loan cancellation
    Hours after the Supreme Court ruled against Biden’s $20k plan, he announced he’ll be putting the Higher Education Act from 1965 into action. It might take longer, but he’s hopeful this will pass. Let’s see.

  • 🤔 The economics of wiping out billions of dollars of debt.
    A UC Berkeley graduate says she doesn’t want her debt wiped out. Easy for someone with less than $8k of debt to say. But still, she makes a good point that wiping out debt could hike up inflation and give colleges permission to increase tuition prices even more. Read her take.
