😨 The IDR Waiver Is Under Attack?!

Welcome to the 64 new readers this week!

They've joined 7,855 readers getting no b.s. student loan news.

Hey ,

How’re you doing this week?

I just got back home after a long time on the road. But just when I think things are calming down, conservatives slap another lawsuit on Biden’s latest forgiveness bill. Never a dull day, I swear….

Let’s dive into the top stories:

  • 😨 Conservatives try to block the IDR Waiver

  • šŸ¤” Can discharged loans be reversed by congress?

  • šŸ” Why you should buy a house BEFORE paying off your loans

  • And more…

Go ahead and pour yourself something, take a seat, and hit play šŸ‘‡

šŸ” No time to watch? Here’s the low down:

  • 😨Is the IDR Waiver at risk? (Spoiler—probably not)

On Friday, a conservative group from Michigan filed a lawsuit against the IDR Waiver. I know this sounds scary, especially after the Supreme Court just shot down Biden’s $20k forgiveness plan. But don’t worry—this time, it’s different. And I’m confident the IDR Waiver is safe.

  • šŸ¤”Can congress reverse loans that have already been forgiven?

It’s possible, sure. It’s also possible that we’ll all get struck by lightning tomorrow. But is it probable? Absolutely not.

  • āÆļø Video: Reasons to buy a house BEFORE paying your loans

This might sound reckless. It’s a hot take for sure. But I want to debunk the idea that you have to put your entire life on hold until you pay your debts. That narrative sucks. So if debt’s holding you back from buying house, watch this.

  • ā³ Two weeks left to complete the survey and win $50
We’ll announce the 3 winners in a couple weeks (I accidentally said ā€œnext weekā€ in the video, my bad) after we close the survey. I’ll be forever grateful if you filled this out for me.

  • šŸ—£ļø Community question: how do I count my credit towards forgiveness?
Honestly, the simplest way to check this is through my TXT File Reader. This might sound like a shameless plug, but trust me—it is the best tool out there right now. And it’s free. It transforms your Student Aid data file into a beautiful loan-by-loan breakdown, showing time spent in repayment, forbearance, and deferment. This makes it way easier to calculate how long you’ve got left til forgiveness.
