• 🤯 Biden drops another cancellation plan
  Remember Biden’s $39 billion forgiveness plan that was struck down in June? So yeah…it’s back. But this time, it’s wearing a trench coat and a fake moustache to avoid the Supreme Court’s unrelenting gaze. The original plan was broader, but this new plan focuses on certain groups—like people suffering from financial hardship, or those who entered into repayment decades ago. The bad news: if it passes, it might not take effect until July 2025.
  
  

• ❌ Government shutdown averted. Will student loans be impacted?
  Last weekend, the US government almost shut down. On this NPR podcast episode, they raised a valid question: “will student loans be affected?” Short answer: no. Nothing has changed so far. But if it does, you’ll be the first to know.
